You can choose a couple of the x-values and plug each into all of the x's in each equation on the right. Then see which equations give the y-values equal to the y's adjacent to the 3 x-values you used. I chose x=-4 and x=8. Only the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th equations matched with both.
Any one of the runners could be 1st.
Every runner except for the one that was 1st could be 2nd.
Every runner that wasn't 1st or 2nd could be 3rd.
100*99*98=970200 groups.
This involves permutations because order does matter.
Hope this helps!
B because if you multiplie it it's the answer b
Factorize the numerator and denominator, then simplify:
10/45 = (2×5)/(9×5) = 2/9
Now,
1/9 = 1/10 + 1/90
1/90 = 1/10 × 1/9 = 1/10 × (1/10 + 1/90) = 1/100 + 1/900
1/900 = 1/100 × 1/9 = 1/100 × (1/10 + 1/90) = 1/1000 + 1/9000
and so on, which is to say
1/9 = 1/10 + 1/100 + 1/1000 + …
or
1/9 = 0.111…
so that multiplying both sides by 2 gives
2/9 = 0.222…
The answer would be $11.8 then just round that up to the nearest whole number which would be $12. Hope this helped if I’m incorrect I apologize:/but I’m pretty sure that’s right!
