You can pick 4 and -4. Absolute value is the distance from 0 on a number line. So if I have a 2 on the number line, the amount of space from the 0 is 2. If I have a negative 9 on a number line then the absolute value is positive 9. A absolute value is always positive, even if the number is negative. Hope this helps!
