In the novel "The Great Gatsby", Jay Gatsby achieves the American Dream. Growing up poor, Gatsby's main goal was to become rich and climb up the social ladder. He puts all of his effort in this dream and finally achieves it. His achievements and wealth were so huge that he ultimately becomes a renowned figure in the society.
Though Gatsby could not achieve certain things in his life like Daisy's commitment or long healthy life, his wealth and possessions which he put so much effort were achieved. Thus, through this achievement, it could be said that he has achieved the American Dream.
