God, no I'd hate to be the mistress described in the poem. Shakepeare describes her in a very rude way. He basically stated that anything he could find on the Earth is better than her. The sun, coral, snow, roses, perfume, and music. He compares her hair to wire, implying that it's stiff and thin. He basically calls her ugly. For example, he states "And in some perfumes is there more delight, Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks." He's saying her breath doesn't simply smell, but it reeks. So no, I hope no one ever describes me in such a way.
I think thew answer is D. "The author supplies the rubuttel that quotes more current research". I'm not 100% sure but it was the best one i could think of. Hope it's right
