hey Amy,
going on a picnic is such a great idea. I think we should go to Van Cortlandt Park.
You can approach a leisurely lunch at this massive north Bronx site in one of two ways. You can vie for table and lawn space at the Allen Shandler Recreation Area, which is easy to access via public transportation and close to grills, baseball fields and playgrounds. Or if you’re craving a more off-the-beaten-path experience, disappear into the Northwest Forest’s 188 acres of massive oaks and wildflowers—or, just west of there, Croton Woods, a 158-acre area with gentle streams, plenty of quietude, and hummingbirds and red-tailed hawks. Just don’t let the birds snatch your sandwich. we should bring is your bag. You can't pack for a perfect picnic without the right bag. As much as the classic picnic basket makes for a perfect Insta picture, it really isn’t practical. I prefer to bring my backpack because it's sturdy and can hold more stuff. You don’t have to awkwardly drag a wicker basket along when you're searching for the perfect picnic spot. Next we should consdier, the blanke. The most important part of this blanket is size. we want the blanket to be large enough to fit all of our friends and food. we might also want to consider something that is thicker, because if the ground is slightly wet, the last thing we want is to feel muddy and gross. next, is the food of course! There are so many different food options we could pack for the perfect picnic. I love when picnics have a variety of small foods like finger sandwiches or fresh fruit. Other options include mason jar salads or chips and fresh salsa. We should Make sure to pack something sweet to finish off your meal, but just make sure it won't melt. My favorite picnic desserts include chocolate chip cookies and fruit tarts. Nextly, My number one recommendation is to pack a drink that can be resealed. Cans of La Croix or soda have their place in the world, but picnics aren't it. You want something resealable so you don't attract bees or have to worry about spilling on uneven ground. If our drink is cold (or hot) make sure to pack it in a thermos. My drink recommendations include lemonade, or sweet tea. I think We should plan a themed picnic! What do you think?
I can’t wait to see you Amy!
warm regards,
