Gregor didn't seem to surprised , the text explicitly states. "How about if I sleep a little bit longer and forget all this nonsense." Meaning that he wasn't to worried about the transformation. The only time he did act surprised was when he answered his mom after she knocked on the door, " <span>Gregor was shocked when he heard his own voice answering, it could hardly be recognized as the voice he had had before."
