okay so, for the number 1 i don't think they violate the policy because what if the athletic director did not know bout this holiday. NOW if the athletic director did know and still did it anyway i mean it could be he does not care if they'll miss the dinner or he did know and was fine with them missing out this dinner. for number 2 i do feel like this one does violate the policy because they're judging that student because of of their race. I mean they apparently did not mean to say it out loud but the fact that the other student heard it.. yea no they should tell someone, or maybe not tell anyone, i get that they overheard them saying it but just don't talk to them, don't associate yourself with them unless they start being all bold and decide to say soemthing to their face or do something they're not supposed to do then you can go on ahead and tell someone like a teacher or administrator.
You could write about a time where possessions didn’t help you but family or friends did. Like during a period of depression for example, possessions could make it worse but people get you through it x
