Solve: 3x+4y=10,2x−2y=2 by the method of elimination.

3x+4y=10 …………..(1)
2x−2y=2 (or) x−y=1 …………(2)
(1) ⇒(3x+4y=10)1
(2) ⇒(x−y=1)3

3x+4y=10
3x−3y=3
_____________________
7y=7
∴y=1
Put y=1 in (1) we get 3x+4×1=10
3x=10−4=6
∴x=36=2
Hence x=2,y=1.
