The importance of school uniform is a controversial subject. Many people believe having a school uniform shows children and young adults responsibility, discipline, and routine. It also encourages them not to worry about what they are wearing and how they look, but more focus on how everyone is the same and shouldn't worry so much about their clothing and looks, as school is for learning and building relationships. Some people don't agree with this, though. Others believe children and young adults should be allowed to express themselves how they want to at school (not showing anything indecent, of course), as it is a part of figuring yourself out and growing up, as well as finding friends with similar tastes. They believe that allowing younger people to wear what they want and finding out how they like to dress gives them a sense of freedom, self expression, self value, and simply allowing them to enjoy dressing how they like to dress. Some schools give all of it's students the same uniform, typically 2 uniforms, one for girls and one for boys. Other schools have a strict dress code, like neutral solid color polo shirts, neutral solid colored pants, neutral solid hoodies, or school spirit clothing.
