The play is awesome. It is one of the best ever and I even get my upper level youth boys to read it with me and engage in conversations about the play. This play opens with violence. There is conflict between families and Romeo and Juliet are lovers who take their own lives. The families are feuding and this often will be till the death. Shakespeare literally discusses the violence in Verona. This play contains violence, fighting, dueling, death, killing themselves, and Tybalt even feels Romeo has dishonored his family and he must pay the price. Verbal arguments, physical violence, and lots of conflict between the two families creates a great read and people can learn how the family hierarchy even fights among themselves within each family. Benvolio is the peace-keeper and Tybalt is violent and aggressive.
