The pulmonary system is part of the circulatory system. It helps expel carbon dioxide from the body as a waste product of cell respiration in cells. The kidneys of the urinary system on the other hand, also ‘sieve out’ metabolic waste products, especially nitrogenous waste, in the blood and expel it as urine.
The circulatory system is also significant in nourishing cells throughout the body with oxygen and nutrients. This in conjunction with the expelling of toxic metabolic waste from these cells by the urinary system play significant role in the growth and development of cells and the body at large.
