Ataxia is a medical condition that is characterized by impaired balance or coordination as a result of a damage to the cerebellum or nerves and muscles that control coordination and voluntary movements. Alcohol intoxication, certain medications, stroke, cerebral palsy, degeneration of the brain, are some of the causes of ataxia. Individuals suffering from ataxia might exhibit signs like unsteady gait, difficulty with speech, lack of eye coordination, etc.
