Best way to avoid this would be to be on top of your game. You can still enjoy life but prioritizing studies is important as well. Being part of clubs on school also makes the transition easier from middle school to high school. Sometimes it feels like everyone is watching you but honestly everyone is busy with their own stuff so do not ever feel embarrased or scared or anything like that.
