I HAD shut the door to. Then I turned around and there he was. I used to be scared of him all the time, he tanned me so much. I
reckoned I was scared now, too; but in a minute I see I was mistaken—that is, after the first jolt, as you may say, when my breath sort of hitched, he being so unexpected; but right away after I see I warn't scared of him worth bothering about. Based on the excerpt, which is the most reasonable plot prediction?
A.Huck will once again start fearing his father.
B.Huck will confidently face his father.
C.Huck will refuse to speak to his father.
D.Huck will be forced to make a choice about his father.
Huck explains that he had always feared his father because he beated him constantly, but suddendly he realized that he wasn't scared of him anymore. He admits that he got scared at that moment but it was more as a reaction to the sudden appereance of his father. Once he got used to his presence he calmed down.
There are no reasons to beleive he will fear his father again so option A. is incorrect. We can't see any clues that show us that Huck is not going to speak him so option C. is incorrect too. As we are not able to know the reasons of his father there, we can't predict if Huck needs to make a choice about him so option D. is not very reasonable.
Based on the evidence, the fact that Huck realices he doesn't fear his father anymore, we can infer Huck is going to confidently face him, not mattering what he wants.
Beowulf is battling against evil because he sailed to the Danes to rescue them from Grendel. It is evident in lines 195 onwards to fight Grendel. SO when the night came, Beowulf and his warriors waited in the hall for Grendel to come. Together with his warriors, they sailed to help King Hrothgar defeat Grendel who continued to kill his men.
One because you want to be able to let go and move on so it doesn't take over your mind and feelings and the second reason is something I don't want to share.
