I would say that the reader does not get the exact age Nujoods´s father is but it could be inferred that he is probably middle-aged because he already has many children with the first wife and he gets married again and has some more. the information about him could be related to his influence on marrying his daughter with that man (because of his lack of many) and his 2nd marriage.
