An evil king is planning to exile the queen so he can marry another. She learns of his plan and begins hinting to the king's ser
vants that she hates sun and the sand. The king hears of this and exiles her to a small island off the kingdom's coast Later it is reported that the ex-queen was seen basking in the sun with a fruity drink in her hand. What cultural value does this story seem to be showing?
A. The Sun God Must be worshipped.
B. Cleverness is often rewarded.
C. The king's servants should be loyal.
D.If you don't like your spouse, you should find another one.
A common human reaction in the face of this tragedy would be to act emotionally. The queen could either get desperate and implore the king not to exile her, or angrily confront him. Taking into consideration his cruelty and assuming that he holds no regard for her, both scenarios would only result in unfortunate outcomes for the queen. While outwitting him the way she did, brought her a positive outcome, the reward (and it was probably the only way she would get one)!
