Hemophilia is characterized by the absence of clotting factors, which are interacting proteins to help blood clot, located on the <u>X chromosome</u>. Since transmission is linked to a sex chromosome, it is concluded that the disease is directly influenced because of a genetic deficiency (it's linked to DNA) and so it's an error in nucleic acids.
