Explanation:
When death came to Everyman to announce that he would soon come visiting and that Everyman would soon be brought to judgement before God. Everyman sought for help from all quarters; fellowships, kinsmen, good works, beauty knowledge, etc, but only good works was able to follow Everyman to his grave.
It is pitiful that even the fellowship could not help Everyman when they realized he was set for a journey of no return. As Christians, our trust should not be put in man, we should rather trust on God and act right before him because only this can help us here on Earth and hereafter. Only our good works can save our souls from being punished before the judgement throne.
I remember failing to enrol for an entrance examination into the university because of financial incapacity. I went to the fellowship with high hopes thinking my problems are solved, it is sad that no one in a congregation of hundred members could come to my aid. They all gave an excuse or another.
This is similar to Everyman's case in the play, no one in the fellowship could assist him when he was in dire need. Therefore, as a devout christian, I have learnt not to put my trust in man but in God, and to ensure that my good works are capable of speaking for me in eternity.
