In y = mx + b form, the slope will be in the m position and the y intercept will be in the b position.
y = 2x + 2.....so we have a slope(m) of 2, and a y int (b) = (0,2)
the x intercept can be found by subbing in 0 for y and solving for x 0 = 2x + 2 -2x = 2 x = -2/2 x = -1......so the x int is (-1,0)
go ahead and plot ur intercepts....(-1,0) and (0,2)......and since ur slope is 2, start at (-1,0) and go up 2 spaces and to the right 1 space, then up 2 and to the right 1........thats ur line and it crosses the y axis at (0,2)
Attached below is a picture of what the graph should look like. What I did was set the equation equal to y like this:
y - 2x = 2...................................................................Add 2x to both sides
y = 2x + 2..................................................................Now just plug numbers in x values and find out what y would equal according to the x values given
For example:
If x = 0:
y = 2(0) + 2
y = 2
That means that your ordered pair is (0,2)
Continue with this to find at least 3 or 4 ordered pairs and then graph and connect the dots to make your line :)
