Question 10 When using repeated trials during a scientific investigation, scientists should find the average of their data for use in their final report.
Solutions are formed when a solute gets dissolved in a solvent. The solid that gets dissolved is called solute whereas the liquid in which the solid gets dissolved is called the solvent. On dissolving, the particles of the solute gets incorporated between the inter-particle space of the solvent. This means that there is no significant difference between the particle size of solute and solvent. However the boiling points of solutions can differ significantly. This is the reason, the solutions cannot be separated by the method of filtration but by the method of distillation.
