1-Main Characters and Setting. Begin your summary by stating the main characters and setting of the chapter in one to two sentences.
Example: In this chapter, Charlie visits Susan in Oregon. He was amazed by the scenery, as his hometown lacked any gorgeous views.

2-Main Theme. The main idea is the main theme in the chapter. ...

Example: Susan and Charlie get in a small argument after reuniting. But they make up quickly and spend the day with each other.

3-Supporting Details. ...

Example: What they did that day. Were they went to lunch, When the got home, ect.

4-Revise for Clarity.

Example: a Short, straight to the point, summary.
Charlie reunites with an old friend and they spend the day together.
