The female ovaries makes the eggs and hormones. Also the female reproductive system is made up of internal organs and external structures. The sperm must undergo capacitation in the female's reproductive tract for some hours.
Fallopian tubes are narrow tubes that are attached to upper part of the uterus which serve as pathways for the ova (egg cells) to travel from the ovaries to the uterus. Fertilization of an egg by a sperm normally occurs in the fallopian tubes.
