B - agenda
An agenda is what the author really wants to point out (their underlying message) and it's typically written in a way where it's somewhat hidden. Example: political ads - they have an agenda for what they want to talk about and why it's important.
During the trial, Atticus has Ewell write his name on a sheet of paper. This is to prove that Ewell's dominant hand is his left hand, therefore it was he who punched the right side of Mayella's face, and not Tom Robinson (whose left hand has been deemed useless after a cotton gin accident). I hope I helped! :)
The sentence in the excerpt from
Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens that reflect the authors’ satirical tone is, ‘Are
you aweer, Mrs. Mann, that you are, as I may say, a porochial delegate, and a
stipendiary?’. Mr. bumble is a church warden however he also receives a
specific amount of cash which was, at that time, is unlikely for a church
warden.
Answer:
Verb agreement.
Explanation:
Punctuation marks are used for the following: to create pauses, flow, or rhythm within a sentence or a text. The way to do this is to use commas or periods to create pauses, commas or conjunctions to create flow, commas or colons to create rhythm, etc. However, one thing that punctuation cannot do is affect verb agreement. Verb agreement means that the subject and the predicate (verb) are in the same number: if the subject is singular, the verb will also be singular; if the subject is plural, so is the verb. This depends on the subject, not on punctuation.
