Segregation is a mechanism that arises in both mitosis and meiosis and consists of the separation of two sister chromatids or two homologous chromosomes that then proceed to migrate to the opposite sides of the cell. During Metaphase I, the homologous pairs are located in the equatorial plane and have their respective kinetochores attached to the microtubules that later will shorten to take each chromosome to a pole.
The egg shell would be most representative of the Earth's Mantle or "Crust", the yolk and white would represent the molten metal inside the earths core I assume.
