The fact that Beowulf refuses to use weapons is a way in which the hero is able to show his self-assurance. Beowulf is clearly convinced of his abilities, and he seems confident about being able to defeat Grendel without the use of any weapons. This is one of the characteristics that make him a hero, as he is sure of his success and confident of his abilities.
The purpose of each step is there to make sure that you wont mess up and tomake sure that you follow the directions closely. The design would have to be in the shade and moist.
