Human activities like burning of fossil fuels, land clearing and agriculture are increasing the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.  These gases are responsible for absorbing the thermal energy present in the sunlight. Hence, can be responsible for increasing the global temperature worldwide. This is called as greenhouse effect.
