The earth rotates on the axis that passes through the north and the south of the planet and is of 24-hour duration. Similar to that of the rotation of the moon which is sideral, this rotation is in the anticlockwise direction. And this originated by the angular movement of the clouds of the dust and gases that have coalesced to for the solar system.
