I was recently interviewed by a local publication that features a person who has had a defining moment in his/her life, a milestone moment which led to change in his/her perspective/lifestyle/goals. I described the moment when I went on my first mountain climb in 2012 as part of a spiritual climb that changed my life and started my love for the outdoors. I did it with my son in darkness, nothing distracting me except for the stars above. Every step was a prayer, every breath a worship.
2015 did not exactly get off to a good start as I had faced the first few days of the new year mourning the loss of a family member. I thought that it was a good opportunity for me to spend some time back into the arms of nature, contemplating life and some reflections to set the year ahead straight – just like my very first climb.
A “dream life” is subjective to many people. While idealistically in America’s eye a dream life would likely be wealth, being extremely successful, perhaps famous, etc. But for a minority like me who is gay, I’d love for there to be a world where there wouldn’t have to be a “coming out” style and not simply expecting the default to be heterosexual. If the human race had been more open-minded and accepting progression would go as far as working together to solve things without divisibility or worrying about being disowned or if it caters towards your families beliefs. That is what a dream life is to me.

Realm: a kingdom/different world. = We were pushed into a realm of beauty and mystery.
Revival: a restoration to life = Revival was the only way to save him.
Dynasty: A line of rulers of a country = He was the 6th ruler of the Shang Dynasty.
Succession: A number of people or things of a similar kind following one after the other = A succession of the Emporer Penguin colony.
